We're watching a lot of Star Wars in our home these days. Five-year olds love the droids, and sometimes, on a Saturday night, nothing is better than seeing children with mouth agape as they witness X wing fighters take on the Empire. (If you choose this course of action, be prepared for a question every 83 seconds.)
It's sad to admit, but despite growing up in the era of the original trilogy, I hadn't seen any of them from start to finish until I watched with my children in the last few weeks. It's great stuff, and provides a nice segue into this post. There's Luke prior to his first Vader fight (when Yoda tells him he's not ready), and after his first Vader fight (when he realizes he's not quite ready). Same characters, but different results.
